Causes Of Acne
The exact reason why some people get acne and do not is not completely understood. But there are several factors are known to be linked to acne:
|
|
- Genetics: It is known that acne is partially hereditary. This means that if your mom or dad had acne, there is a good chance that you will too.
- Hormones: During adolescence or menstrual cycles, hormones can stimulate oil glands in your skin, increasing oil production and thus increase the chance of developing acne.
- Skin irritation: Any skin irritation from scratching or dry skin from washing to often can activate inflammation and acne.
- Medications or Steriods: Using anabolic steriods or certian types of medications containing halogens (iodides, clorides, bromides), lithium, barbiturates, and androgens.
- Using greasy skin car products or cosmetics: Any product that can clog the oil ducts may cause acne.
